Below is a testimonial from one of Dr. Salinsky’s knee replacement patients!
After retiring from my Equine Veterinary practice in 2000, my osteo-arthritic conditions became worse. My right shoulder had totally worn out by 2009, and I chose Dr. Salinsky of the Center for Bone & Joint Disease (CBJD) in Hudson, Florida where I was living at the time. He had the ability to talk to me in layman terms, but also understood my knowledge of bones and joints. I was so pleased with the results of the total shoulder replacement, that I asked him for a consult on a knee replacement in 2011.

I had an arthroscopic surgery in 1996 on my left knee in Orlando, FL to remove a badly torn ACL, and then another arthroscopy in 1999 to clean up severe arthritis in my right knee which became worse again over time. When Dr. Salinsky and I discussed the knee replacement he consulted me about doing both knee replacements at the same time, and we agreed that it might not be wise to do one knee at a time with the other one still being unstable. He advised me at the time, months ahead of surgery to continue Gym activities as best I could to strengthen the muscles in both legs prior to surgery. This was great advice since it made my recovery much easier.
With the help of another surgeon at CBJD, they did both knees at the same time in a relatively short procedure, and I was only hospitalized a few days before transferring to a Rehab facility for about 10 days.
In 2012 at the age of 67, I decided to make a trip in my Camper Van across the mainland, and move to Hawaii. I visited relatives and spent 2 weeks at Yellowstone. Then I went to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Devils Tower, where I walked around that mountain path twice. Then it was on to Seattle’s Space Needle, down through the Redwoods of CA, before flying to the Big Island of Hawaii. I am so grateful for the fine advice & surgical skills of Dr. Salinsky, and now I can even keep in touch through CBJD website! – Peter S. Haberly, D.V.M.
